The Well Coffeehouse & Church
For eleven years, we have been gathering in Pineville to minister to one another and within our communities. The people who gather at The Well are striving to be honest in our weaknesses in order to discover and re-discover Jesus as our strength. We approach God with bold expectations, as the beauty and grace of God heals and restores our brokenness.
We believe God is calling us to avoid the trappings of a large building at this time. Our desire is to intentionally join God in building-up His people (the Church), re-discovering what it means to have the church grow in ways that a building and it's size cannot contain.
As a community that is longing to be deeply founded upon the things of God, we offer up this simple, 135 year old church building as a public, living room/porch with the hope of having lives intersect in ways that reflect the truth and grace revealed in Jesus' interaction with the woman at the well. (See John, Chapter 4 in the Bible)
Perhaps one day God will call His Church, at The Well, to build a building.Until then, we hope to offer up the humble space that we do have as a community gathering place. We simply hope and expect to see opportunities for relationships to emerge and expand, along with our church community.
Imagine people joined in serving together, as we open the building to the public as a coffeehouse/cybercafe. In the midst of concerts, quietness, and caffeinated and non-caffeinated beverages - God is making room for conversation, compassion, and Christian servanthood. For more info CLICK HERE.
How Can You Help The Well @ Pineville?
First, you can pray with us and for us. We'd love to have you partner with us in that way.
Second,you might be looking for a way to serve people in order to reach out in love to those who need to experience and hear about God's love. Perhaps God could use you to serve in our coffeehouse so that it remains open to all who need a place to come, contemplate, or converse about the joys and struggles of life. See the picture to the right? We'd love to see a time when it would be difficult to take a picture and not see people communing with God and one another.
Third - believe it or not, people often judge a church's success or failure based upon big buildings and large crowds. We live in cultures (including many shared by Christians) that cannot imagine being a part of a church community that doesn't LOOK shiny and successful. We are looking to grow and "succeed" in ways that aren't necessarily measured that way. We will "succeed" to the extent expand the faith, hope, and love of Jesus through servant/disciples marked by his name, not by expanding the size of buildings that have marquees drawing attention to our own names.

Finally, you can give a fully tax deductible gift to The Well (220 Main Street, Pineville, NC 28134), and we will use it that end. We feel called to express grace and generosity in very concrete ways. Over the past few years we have given over $70,000 away to help meet peoples' needs in various ways. Your gift can help us travel the path of generosity in Jesus' name.
